Stocking Up for Returns and Shipments

Posted December 25, 2012

The holidays have come and gone, all the wrapping paper that once adorned shipping boxes has been ripped to shreds (or neatly folded and saved for next year if that is more your style) and with it, all of the gifts have been given and received. One would assume this would be a slow time for shipping boxes and packages, and although in 2011, the USPS cited that the days between December 19th and December 22nd as their busiest days of that year, there are still plenty of returns to be made and packages to be shipped. So how does one make sure that they’re not left in the dust when it comes to being prepared with packing supplies for the influx of packages that are about to be shipped?

The first and probably most obvious thing that your company will need to do is stock up on boxes that are most commonly used for shipping. The most common box sizes that are shipped include the 4 x 4 x 4, the 4 x 4 x 6, the 4 x 4 x 8, and the 4 x 4 x 10. It is highly suggested that when you place an order for these boxes that you purchase bulk orders in order to maintain enough to get you through to the New Year. When you buy in bulk from our site, you receive a discount depending on the quantity of boxes bought in the order. As well, when purchasing from our site, you can set up an account, which will make repeat orders extremely simple in the future.

It is also a good idea to stock up on packing and shipping tape for both large and small boxes. We can all recall a time when we had everything ready in order to ship an item in the mail, only to discover we had forgotten to stock up on tape, or at least the properly sized tape. It’s an annoying bump in the road that can be amended simply by ordering plenty of the right type of shipping tape well in advance.

Hopefully by following these few simple steps, you will find yourself with plenty of packaging materials to get you well into the New Year.
